A Face Has Appeared at the Castle. This Publication Has Questions.

By Griff Harpoon · 2026-08-15

[BLK]goodbye is holding the Sunfire Castle. [BLK]goodbye has a profile picture. The profile picture is a real human face — smiling, slightly unsettling, the kind of face that appears on stock photo websites under the search term “confident.” It became something of a landmark during the Frostdragon Tyrant competition, where it appeared frequently enough to achieve a certain notoriety.

This publication has reviewed [BLK]goodbye’s performance at the castle today. The face is powerful. The player is less conclusively so.

Where the face came from remains unknown. This publication is not making accusations. This publication is simply noting that a very recognizable face has turned up at the castle and that its owner’s stats do not entirely match its confidence.

The investigation is ongoing.

CORRECTION: [BLK]goodbye is not at the castle. [BLK]goodbye was never at the castle. The face appeared in a screenshot from a different state entirely, which this publication printed without sufficient verification. The investigation into the face’s origins remains open. The face’s whereabouts today are unknown. We regret the error.

—Griff Harpoon, actually reporting. Eventually.
