A weary traveler standing at the open gates of a snowy Korean fortress surrounded by luggage, a large wooden sign overhead reading GO AWAY YOU WERE NOT INVITED and SIT QUIETLY TILL YOU CAN LEAVE, Julie seated on an ice throne inside the gates wearing a fur-trimmed hanbok and holding a megaphone, snow falling, mountains in the background, the hospitality overwhelming

Tales of Reddit Woe: State 1818 Welcomes Migrants With Warmth And Threats

By Greigh Fox · 2026-08-20

This week on Tales of Reddit Woe, Mobile-Nothing-758 lamented their poor luck transferring to a random state. They posted screenshots. Actual documentation of the unhinged leader there.

“WELCOME TO THOSE WHO HAVE FREELY MIGRATED HERE WITHOUT PRIOR CONSULTATION. IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THE RULES OF 1818, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A VERY DIFFICULT MONTH. WE HOPE YOU'LL STAY QUIET UNTIL YOU LEAVE.” —Dictator Julie.

That might be the coldest state welcome in Whiteout Survival. Nobody contols who lands during open transfer. Three upvotes. Six comments. One Julie.

This publication hopes Mobile-Nothing-758 survives the month and makes it to a friendlier state. —Greigh Fox, fair and balanced.
